About LAL Language Centres

35 years’ experience

LAL Language Centres was set up in Torbay in 1980, and offers language courses with leisure programmes for adults and young learners around the world. The LAL group of schools is owned by a large German tour operator, FTI. We have schools for adults in Boston, London, Torbay, Florida, Cape Town, Malta and Gozo. We also run residential summer schools in the UK, USA and Malta.

You can find out about all our schools and courses at www.lalschools.com.

High quality

LAL prides itself on the quality of our courses. Our lessons are taught by trained teachers, and we are accredited in each country as a mark of our high standards.

Not just lessons

LAL stands for ‘Language And Leisure’, which emphasises our belief that students should get out of the classroom and enjoy themselves while practising their new language skills. Our activity programme for Young Learners is fully supervised by a large team of Activity Assistants and provides our students with a mix of compulsory and optional activities every week. Adults are offered a wide range of excursions and tours, ranging from visits to local beauty spots to trips to cities further afield. We have our own minibuses and employ driver-guides to help our students get the most out of their visit.

The LAL family

Our sister company LAL Sprachreisen is a leading language travel agent in Germany and you can visit their homepage at www.lal.de. Both LAL Language Centres and LAL Sprachreisen are owned by the Munich based tour operator FTI  www.fti.de
