About LAL Fort Lauderdale

LAL Fort Lauderdale is a year-round school in Florida, USA. It was opened in 1995, and is located in the suburbs of Fort Lauderdale.

It is our commitment to provide the ideal environment where our students actively learn, live the language and experience the special characteristics and way of life of each country.

We understand that you may want to know more about us and what we do, so we have prepared this page to give you some further information. We would invite you to read it carefully as it may be referred to in an interview.

What we do

LAL Fort Lauderdale runs English courses for students for Young Learners aged 13-18 and also for adults. We offer high quality courses that are accredited by the CEA. We also provide a compulsory leisure programme for Young Learners and optional excursions for Adults: this is part of our core principle that our students should enjoy a full cultural experience as well as classroom time, which is why LAL stands for ‘Language And Leisure’.

Our school can teach up to 200 students per week, though the number of students in the school will vary throughout the year. Our busiest periods are Easter and the summer, corresponding with school holidays in the northern hemisphere, and this is when we offer most seasonal positions.

Our team of teachers are supported by the administration of the Academic Department, who devise and control the courses. Our Student Services team consists of Welfare and Leisure staff.

Why work for us

We offer a wide range of jobs, from teaching to administration and leisure staff, and employ full-time and seasonal personnel. We are a language school that takes our work and responsibilities seriously, offering excellent courses, pastoral care and leisure programmes, with staff who are dedicated to what they do. Although our busy times can be periods of high pressure, we have a strong team spirit and sense of responsibility.

We are a company that assists and encourages its staff with our comprehensive management team. We welcome and support newly qualified teachers but also give experienced teachers their own freedom in the classroom; and we always look for the most enthusiastic, energetic and motivated administration, activities and welfare staff.
