Summary:

LAL Torbay is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and energetic individual to provide full guided tours for all students and to undertake airport transfers. The successful person should make all tours varied and interesting for the students whilst ensuring the safe welfare of the students at all times.

Important

Candidates must have the below as part of their driving licence:

  • Full clean driving licence with a D1 classification and PSV entitlement – without a ‘101 restriction’ next to it (Not for Hire or Reward)
  • Drivers CPC

Location:

Line Manager:

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Ensure that the vehicle, whether company or chartered, is checked for roadworthiness before each journey.
  • Collect all relevant information and documentation needed for each tour or airport transfer from office.
  • Clean and re-fuel as required before and/or after use.
  • Remain friendly and professional to all LAL students, partners and third party suppliers.
  • Ensure enjoyment and safety of students at all times.
  • Provide an informative service on each tour.
  • Drive within the guidelines and laws of the country. Note that any penalty notice or fine incurred by the driver due to negligence on the part of the driver will be paid by the driver.
  • Take sales staff on visits of the local area and to the summer schools with agents.
  • Report immediately any vehicle faults or accidents to the line manager or the Operations Manager both verbally and in writing.
  • Any additional duties as required by the business.

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Full clean driving licence (D1 classification with a PSV entitlement)

  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English

Hotel Supervisor

LAL, having recently celebrated over 30 years in the industry, is a well-established, international English language provider for adults and juniors, supported by a large German parent company. We are looking for hard-working and reliable Hotel Supervisor (or Supervisors if a couple) whose job will be to ensure the smooth running of our student hotel ‘Twenty Nine’ in Paignton.

Summary:

To be responsible for the day to day running of the student hotel Twenty Nine. To ensure student rooms and common areas are kept to a high standard and that students get up and get to school on time.

This position is suitable for one person, or two people as a couple.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Ensure hotel is maintained to a standard suitable to ensure guest satisfaction and concerns are addressed quickly and to the satisfaction of parties concerned.
  • Provide support and assistance to students as requested or needed.
  • Ensure student rooms and common areas are cleaned to a high standard
  • Ensure bookings to rooms are accurate. Liaise with accommodation department and guests to maximize guest satisfaction whilst maintaining the integrity of the booking system.
  • Prepare buffet style continental breakfast each morning.
  • Check students in and out of the hotel.
  • Meet and greet students when required.
  • Be responsible for taking calls on the hotel emergency phone.
  • Ensure students get to school, meals on time and planned activities on time.
  • Maintain stockroom including cleaning materials and spare items such as bulbs, toilet brushes, kettles, etc. Maintain an accurate inventory and supply schedule.
  • Ensure adequate stock of laundry and cost control.
  • Ensure keys and codes are kept securely and records are maintained to ensure appropriate use.
  • Monitoring the condition of fixtures and fittings throughout the residence. Agreeing replacement/repair with General Manager.
  • Manage external contractors in relation to specified building works or cleaning.
  • Coordinate/supervise cleaners, cleaning rota, timesheet, annual leave, sickness, training.
  • Ensure health and safety and other rules for guests are adhered to and liaise with the school for further action where rules are breached.

  • Supervise the stock of vending machine/ tuck shop and manage the stock.
  • Check service history and warrantees on boilers and other items ensuring compliance, maintenance and renewal as necessary.

  • Undertake all H&S checks required in liaison with LAL H&S Officer.

Customer Service Manager

We are looking for a talented Customer Service Manager whose job will be to assist with the smooth running of the school and ensure that there is a high level of client satisfaction at all times.

Summary:

To support the General Manager in delivering customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Initiate and finalise quotes for both group and individual enquiries and lend support following enquiries initiated by Student Advisers, the Admissions Team and other parties.
  •  Liaise with all departments in the school to ensure all necessary provision is in place to meet customer expectations.
  •  Liaise with individual customers, International Group Leaders, ETOs and ETAs in situ as required.
  •  Gather market intelligence as directed by the Head of Marketing.
  •  Provide the Marketing Department with regular updates for company media, publications and statistics.
  •  Organise and participate in agent visits and familiarisation-trips.
  •  Monitor and provide reports on school statistics.
